Blogg Advice
Blogging is some thing that surprisingly is foreign to me.( yes even in 2020 ) Every once in a while I'll look up stupid health questions like " is my poop color normal?", or " how to shorten my period ". Majority of these searches lead me to various blog sites in which I skim through to find my answers. It wasn't until two days ago in which I realized blogging was going to be an important part of my semester. And so, I've picked up on different themes that reoccur in certain blogs that I think are successful.
Personalization:
I've read a couple of blogs and the ones that seem to catch my attention more have a personal attachment to them. I think making whatever you're talking about on a personal level can help the audience be more engaged as well as somewhat believing what you were saying more. For example there was a blog called "In Defense of Y'all"by Pam that argued the use of using the term y'all instead of you all and whether that made her less educated or not. She explained herself well and gave personal points as of how she uses it and how normalized it is in the south. For me that made me want to listen or I guess I should say read what she had to say because I can relate to her viewports and experience.
Pictures :
Pictures always catch your eye unless of course you're blind. But in my case I wear contacts and I can clearly see the pictures and how engaging I am when I see them. Of course even in serious posts like
Why Marianne Williamson’s Unconventional Presidential Bid Didn’t Catch On
Talked about something important to them and not as entertaining or laid-back as other texts. It did contain a picture of the woman in which the article was about. You kind of get a better sense of what's going on who were talking about what we're talking about whether I'm going to be interested I continue to read or if I'm not. Me personally I think pictures are sometimes necessary in order to grab attention to your writing. I don't think it's mandatory especially in every blog but as far as what makes a blog successful I've seen that most of them contain a few pictures.
